What is the mandate of the scholarship?To provide financial support, in addition to mentoring and other support mechanisms, to students who have excelled in high school and who had to manage the stresses of growing up facing major challenges.

Who is the scholarship open to?
The scholarship is open to students graduating from a TDSB high school. In 2018, four scholarships of $2500 were awarded: $1500 in the first year; $1,000 in the second year.
What are the criteria for the scholarship? A successful candidate will be attending college or university after graduating from a TDSB high school, will have achieved at a high level, and has experienced significant challenges. The candidate will have financial need.
Who is running the scholarship?
ONE City is run by a steering committee of volunteers, most of whom are secondary school teachers in the TDSB. A growing number of community members are also volunteers.
Are donations charitable?
Donations of $25 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. The ONE City Scholarship Fund exists under the umbrella of the Toronto Foundation, our city’s community foundation with over $400,000,000 under management. Our implementation partner is the Toronto Foundation for Student Success.
