Too often there are incredible students in high schools throughout Toronto, who have so much potential for post-secondary achievement, but very little support as they struggle through poverty, stigma, and various other circumstantial disadvantages.
Over the next few months, we will be posting the profiles of young people you should hear about. They are remarkable. Yes, they grew up in low-income circumstances, but that is not who they are. They are examples of the talent that this city holds within it that we should invest in and foster. They are resilient, ambitious and optimistic. They represent the best that Toronto can be.
